Director, Institute of Radiation Protection of the Institutions for Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention in the Precision Engineering and Electrical Industry and in the Chemical Industry
It is a great pleasure and honour for us to give some words to this honourable assembly on behalf of the Institute of Radiation Protection of the Institutions for Statutory Accident Insurance and Prevention in the Precision Engineering and Electrical Industry and in the Chemical Industry.
We are overwhelmed by this high-level Advanced Research Workshop organised by Professor Fliedner, who is one of the members of the Advisory Board of our Institute for Radiation Protection.
We are very pleased to have the possibility to participate in this Workshop, because when we look at the programme we see many topics that are of great interest with regard to our tasks in the context of the organisation of optimum care of injured persons in the field of occupational radiation exposure.
You may know that one of the tasks of workmen compensation boards is to provide first aid to support employers in their obligation for care with regard to their employees, whilst it is the task of federal and state administrations to try to prevent such events by appropriate measures.
The topics of this Workshop exactly meet the information needs that we try to transfer from scientific level to the practical level in our Regional Centres of Radiation Protection. These Centres are the backbone of our radiation accident management system.
So we are glad to have the opportunity to participate in this Workshop and to support it by a small grant.
Looking at the Scientific Chairman and at all the excellent speakers of the Workshop, we are sure that the Workshop will go well.
