Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG)-PET and CT axial images through the nasopharynx demonstrate increased FDG uptake in an area corresponding to the roof of the nasopharynx. The area of uptake shown was subsequently biopsied and confirmed as an area of persistent/recurrent nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
