Treatment with or without 1% dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) showed that the free radical scavenger, DMSO, effectively inhibited the bystander response of DSB induction for all the groups. Data were pooled from three or four individual experiments. Error bars represent the standard deviations of the means. The symbol * depicts values that are statistically significant (p<0.01) between the DMSO-treated and untreated groups.
