In control neutrophils, normal neutrophil morphology with a multi-lobulated nucleus is seen (arrow). Following diatrizoate treatment, characteristic morphological signs of neutrophil apoptosis, such as cell shrinkage, nuclear pyknosis and chromatin condensation are demonstrated (arrow).
