Book review

Paediatric Ultrasound. By H Carty (Ed.), J Higham and S Crawford, pp. viii+216, 2001 (Greenwich Medical Media Limited, London), £32.50 ISBN 1 900151170

J McHugo

This is a useful, short text that, on the whole, is well illustrated with ultrasound images complemented by appropriate line diagrams.

Chapters are allocated to systems. Within each chapter there is concise text relating to both normal anatomy and pathology. The text relating to pathology is further divided into clinical presentation, ultrasound appearances, complications and treatment. This style makes this book very appropriate for any trainee in ultrasound. References, however, are relatively old.
