Figure 1. Plot of dose–area product (DAP) vs patient weight (BW) for three angiographic systems used from 1995 to 2003. n, number of examinations; r, correlation coefficient; RD, relative deviation, also indicated by the dashed lines.

Figure 2. (a) Plot of the fluoroscopic dose–area product (DAPF) normalized to the time of fluoroscopy (TF) vs the patient weight (BW). (b) Plot of the dose–area product (DAPA) accumulating during cine acquisition, normalized to the total number of recorded frames (NA) vs BW. The data are from the Philips Integris system. For the DAPA plot all examinations with erroneous dose measurements were eliminated as far as possible. n, number of examinations; r, correlation coefficient; RD, relative deviation, also indicated by the dashed lines.

Figure 3. Histogram of dose–area products per body weight (DAP/BW) for the groups of diagnostic examinations (light grey) and interventional procedures (dark grey). Axis labels represent the midpoint of 0.1 Gy cm2 kg–1 bands. The last band includes all DAP/BW values larger 4 Gy cm2 kg–1. The mean value, median (p50), 3rd quartile (p75), 90th and 95th percentile values (p90, p95) are marked for each group.
