Factors affecting eye dose during cardiac catheterizations

A Shaw and T A Pratt

North Western Medical Physics Department, Christie Hospital NHS Trust, Withington, Manchester M20 9BX

This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

Our study was prompted by specific concern from some operators who suspected they received significantly greater eye doses when using one unit compared with another unit at a differenct centre while perfoming similar types of studies. Consequently, our aim was to make a comparison between a number of operators, X-ray units and cardiology centres and attempt to link this to causative factors, rather than present a simple survey of recorded eye doses.
