Physical Properties of Tissue: Comprehensive Reference Book. By F. A. Duck, pp. x+ 346, 1990 (Academic Press, London), £30.00. ISBN 0–12–222800–6

This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

This book is excellent: it is the "Kaye & Laby" and "Geigy Scientific Tables" for those who work or are connected with the medical sciences.

The book consists of nine chapters covering the thermal, optical (including ultraviolet and infrared), acoustic (i.e., ultrasonic), mechanical and electrical properties of tissue; together with the effects of ionizing radiation and nuclear magnetism within tissues. An additional chapter and appendices provide information on tissue composition and perfusion rates.
