We thank Douglas Jones for his interest in our work. We are glad that their computer program based on a similar principle has been shown to produce good results. With regard to their question about case by case verificaiton, we would refer them to the third paragraph in the Results section of Thomson & Clegg (1992) in which our case by case analysis is discussed.
