Phototherapy of Cancer. Ed. by G. Morstyn and A. Kaye, pp. ix + 224, 1990 (Harwood Academic Publishers, New York), $108.00. ISBN 3–7186–0510–4
This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.
This multi-author text is comprised of 12 chapters, the initial four of which are concerned with basic biology, photochemistry, laser systems and light delivery. Chapters 5–11 review clinical applications and the book concludes with a discussion of the future directions for Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)/Phototherapy. With few exceptions, all the discussion relates to PDT and, in this sense, the book's title may appear misleading to those unfamiliar with the subject. For those seeking information about all aspects of the use of light in the diagnosis and management of cancer, this text will appear wanting.
