Haematopoiesis in the liver: the role of 99Tcm

M. Abboud and S. K. Morcos

Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Northern General Hospital, Sheffield S5 7AU, UK

This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

We read with interest the case report of Bradley and Metreweli (1990), describing the ultrasound appearances of extramedullary haematopoiesis in the liver. However we are surprised that they omitted to include the role of isotope liver scanning using 99Tcm labelled millimicrospheres in suggesting the diagnosis of this condition.

Received for publication December 1, 1990.
