Transient circular narrowing of the cervical oesophagus

Roberto O. Dantas

Departamento de Clinica Medica, Faculdade de Medicina de Riberao Preto, USP, 14049 Riberao Preto, Sao Paulo, Brazil

This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

In patients with dysphagia, Ekberg et al (1988) described a transient circular narrowing within the cervical oesophagus.

We published a case report of a 26-year-old woman with similar radiological findings (Dantas et al, 1985). The patient had had earlier surgery to correct the emergence of the right subclavian artery from the left side of the aortic arch, after complaining of dysphagia of 4 months duration.

Received for publication November 1, 1988.
