Book review

N. J. McNally

Advances in Radiation Biology. Volume 11. Ed. by J. T. Lett, pp. xi + 440, 1984 (Academic Press, New York/London), £52.50, $75.00. ISBN 0–12–035411–X

This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

The editor, John Lett, in his preface to the 11th volume emphasises the need for Advances in Radiation Biology to include more reviews on new research areas, in particular molecular biology and modern biochemistry: "the classical era is at an end". This volume represents a good balance between the "classical era" and "modern times", providing eight reviews ranging from free radical chemistry through DNA repair to radiation risks. Any reader interested in the broad field of radiobiology will find several chapters in this book worth his attention.
