The 18th of July 1983 saw the end of an illustrious career in radiology in South Africa, when Jack Nathan Jacobson passed away whilst still in active radiological practice.
I had the privilege of knowing Jack in my student days and subsequently as a partner in private radiological practice, where his loyalty to the practice and his partners, together with his support for newer advances, was an unforgettable feature of his approach to his speciality.
