This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

This book is a comprehensive practical guide to wholebody CT scanning of the abdomen and pelvis. The first chapter consists of a brief description of the physical principles of CT, followed by a general discussion on CT interpretation, including the use of window adjustments, contrast medium and methods employed to reduce artefacts. The remainder of the text is largely devoted to a description of CT appearances in various abdominal and pelvic conditions and to the indications for scanning. The subject has been considered according to anatomical site and each chapter includes sections on CT anatomy and specific aspects of examination technique.
