Occupational Lung Disorders. By W. Raymond Parkes, pp. 528, 1974 (London, Butterworths), £15.
This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.
As our understanding of the pathology and natural history of occupational lung disorders has increased greatly in recent years, to write a book on these problems is a formidable task. Dr. Parkes has, however, succeeded admirably in bringing together so many different branches of medicine and a number of non-biological sciences.
He introduces the book by stressing the importance of terminology, pointing out that "silicosis" is often wrongly used as a general term for all forms of pneumoconiosis.
