Assessment of diagnostic X-ray equipment

J. W. Laws

This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

Last year the National Health Service spent approximately seven million pounds on the purchase of diagnostic X-ray equipment. This figure has increased by some 20 per cent per year for the past few years and shows every sign of continuing to increase.

The choice of apparatus in any particular case is often arbitrary since little objective information is available upon which a rational choice can be made.
