Invasion of the facial bones by basal meningiomas

B. Kendall, M.R.C.P., F.F.R.

The National Hospital for Nervous Diseases and The Middlesex Hospital, London

Five meningiomas which invaded the facial bones are described. All these tumours had been known to be present for fairly long periods, varying between 4 and 18 years, and had recurred following surgery, before there was indication of facial involvement. Despite the previous history, three of the recurrent tumours caused difficulty with diagnosis.

Received for publication November 1, 1972.
