The radiology of the deep lymphatic system of the leg

J. Vitek and Z. Kaspar

Radiological Clinic, Brno and the III Surgical Unit, Brno

Clinical experience with lymphography of the deep lymphatic system of the leg in 31 patients is reported. The examination was normal in all 12 patients with varicose veins. In the six patients with the post thrombophlebitic syndrome proven by phlebography, the deep lymphatic system was obliterated in three, but was patent and almost normal in the remainder. The 12 cases of primary and secondary lymphoedema showed fine, but otherwise normal deep lymphatic vessels.

Received for publication June 1, 1972. Revision received September 1, 1972.
