Wessex Cardiac and Thoracic Centre, Southampton Chest Hospital, Southampton
Two cases are presented where, following trauma to the chest, a cystic air space appeared in the left para-vertebral region. From the radiological appearances these were not intra-pulmonary in site and it is concluded that they arose from rupture of alveoli into the pulmonary ligament.
