This book contains the proceedings of a conference held at the University of Miami.

The opening chapters are concerned with respiratory physiology and include sections on respiratory mechanics, the physiology of the pulmonary circulation and ventilation perfusion ratios. These are well written, but apart from the section by Dr. John West on ventilation-perfusion balance they are not especially concerned with the use of radionuclides.
