Basic diagnostic radiology (an introductory textbook for students in the medical sciences). By M. D. Jones, pp. ix + 266, 511 illus., 1969 (London, C. V. Mosby Company; Henry Kimpton), 106s.
This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.
The principal part of this book is divided into four chapters or sections—chest, abdomen, limbs and head and neck.
In the introduction the basic principles of radiography including the use of contrast media are discussed. The author makes the pertinent point that a radiographic study is merely an extension of the physical examination of the patient, enabling one to explore certain anatomical areas in a way not otherwise possible. He stresses the value of radiography in studying not only anatomy but also function.
