This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

These chambers were designed for use in the diagnostic X-ray energy region (Osborn and Burrows, 1958), but are sometimes used at lower energies, e.g. for protection measurements in connection with superficial therapy or Grenzray units, for which more suitable ion chambers are not readily available. We have recently calibrated several of these chambers in this lower energy region, which is outside their design range, and the results are presented for the information of readers. No criticism of the equipment is intended.
