This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.
As pointed out by Godfrey, Vennart, Cottrall and Trott (1968) and, of course, by many other workers including ourselves (Boddy, 1965; 1966), factors such as independence of source geometry, constancy of background, comfort of the patient and flexibility for various monitoring techniques must be considered in assessing the performance of a whole body monitor as well as high sensitivity and cost. It is not always feasible, however, to do justice to all of these factors in the same communication!
