An account is given of some of the opacities which may be seen on the radiograph following operations on the heart, especially congenital heart disease. It is felt that angiocardiography should be given a more important place in the post-operative assessment and should be used more frequently in this context. Comment is made on various aspects of interpretation and it is felt that there is much information in this field yet to be uncovered.
