The Construction of Individualised Intensity Modifying Filters in Cobalt 60 Teletherapy

J. van de Geijn, phys.drs.

H. Joannes de Deo Hospital, The Hague, Netherlands

This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

The theory and construction of individualised intensity modifying filters for use with irregular surfaces in 60Co teletherapy are described. The theory results in a conversion function which is independent of the source-surface distance and which can be derived from standard depth dose tables. The practical application is greatly simplified by the special surface copying device which is described.
