Principles and Practice of Oral Radiologic Interpretation. By H. M. Worth, pp. xix + 746, 662 illus., 1963 (London, Lloyd-Luke (Medical Books) Ltd.), £11 5s.
This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.
This large volume, including some 2,000 film reproductions, gives the most complete cover of the subject of any book so far published. It is the culmination of the experience of an authority well known in this field and widely acclaimed.
In the beginning is a meticulous description of normal jaw bone and tooth shadows with extensive discussion of their variations. Following developmental abnormalities, all possible changes with disease and all diseases that might involve the jaws or teeth are considered. The literature is extensively reviewed and quoted and the basis for the author's final opinion in doubtful matters is well given. Innumerable interesting case histories are included and many of them are illustrated. Although discussion is nowhere brief, the style is very readable.
