Point-wedges: A Development of Wedge-filter Technique

E. H. Porter, B.M. E. J. Hall, B.Sc. and F. Ellis, M.A., M.Sc., M.D., M.R.C.P., F.F.R.

Radiotherapy Department, Churchill Hospital, Oxford

This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

A wedge filter is described which produces uniformity of dose within a volume treated by three fields, each at right angles to the other two. It becomes of value where the sum of the field size and the offset is too large for a single pair of wedge fields at right angles to produce an acceptable dose-distribution.

The clinical applications are discussed.

Received for publication December 1, 1960.
