There appeared in the preceding number of this Journal (1960, xxxiii, 197–8) two consecutive letters on the above subject. The first was from Morkovin and Feldman; the second, from ourselves, is unfortunately presented as if it were a comment on the details of the first. You have kindly permitted us to reveal that the letter from Morkovin and Feldman on which you invited our comment was subsequently modified by them without notice to us before publication of the two letters.
