Bone Tumours. By D. C. Dahlin, M.D., pp. 224, 231 illus.+ 3 tables + 26 graphs, 1957 (Charles C. Thomas, Springfield, Illinois, and Blackwell Scientific Publications Ltd., Oxford), £4 7s. 6d.
This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.
This is not a textbook of bone tumours and neither is it intended to be one. Dr. Dahlin has reviewed 2276 consecutive and unselected cases of primary tumours of bone from the records of the Mayo Clinic, a task that has taken him nine years. He has been helped by many colleagues at the Mayo Clinic, particularly by Dr. Henry W. Meyerding, Emeritus Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery of the University of Minnesota, to whom is largely due the credit for the remarkable fact that complete follow-up studies were available in almost all the cases. Dr. David G. Pugh is responsible for the review of the radiographs.
