Catalogues

This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

We have received from Messrs. Schall & Son Ltd., a catalogue of X-ray apparatus. The catalogue is fully illustrated and gives details and prices of practically all equipment necessary for the radiologist, ranging from complete installations of all types to minor components such as distance gauges and pastille holders, and including X-ray tubes, rectifying valves, darkroom equipment, etc.

Messrs. Schall have also sent us a series of booklets concerning electromedical apparatus.

Bulletin 1008 deals with equipment for ultra-violet therapy, and contains details of U-V lamps and accessories. There is an interesting preface dealing with the physics of actinotherapy types of lamps available and giving hints as to the choice of lamps for various purposes. Bulletin 1010 is of a similar nature and deals with diathermy and the necessary equipment. This bulletin forms a useful introduction to the physics and applications of the subject. Bulletin 1003 describes fully a portable unit heavy diathermy; this unit is made in two sections for ease of transport, and has arrangements to make it applicable to voltages of from 70 to 25a volts. Bulletin 1009 describes the "Pantostat," an apparatus designed to give various types of current used in electrotherapy-galvanic, faradic, sinusoidal, etc., and also supplies for lighting inspection lamps, etc., in such a way as to be "earth-free."
