Between the years 1921 and 1952 this voluntary committee, with no official authority, kept on trying to put into practical form recommendations for safety in radiological work; and its members were kept busy because on the one hand of the everwidening sphere of radiological work and on the other of the more acute apprehension of the dangers of over-exposure.
