Dr. G. E. Vilvandré

Colman O'Doherty

This excerpt was created in the absence of an abstract.

Another of the great pioneers of radiology has passed from our midst. George Ernest Vilvandré died at his home in Redbourne, Hertfordshire on July 26 having been in indifferent health for over a year. He was born in Paris but whilst yet a young man he developed so abiding a yearning for a life in England that he was sent to school here and at 21 became naturalised. As a medical student at the London Hospital he took the eye of Sir Arthur Keith who refers to him in his autobiography as an out-standing pupil. Following qualification in 1910 he held several appointments in the hospital and in the Poplar Hospital for Accidents.
